Daily Conversation #3

Today is day 17 of our daily reflection for building capacity and stature on our community and I really do want to share this with us here on wwg (daily conversation).

But let us read the scripture first.

Hebrews 5:8-9 says,

“Though He was a Son, He learned obedience through what He suffered… and became the source of eternal salvation.”

Now, can we be honest for a second?

If Jesus, the Son of God, needed suffering to be made ready for His assignment… then why do we think we can grow into our calling without any stretching at all?

Suffering isn’t God punishing you, sis. It’s His classroom. Comfort teaches you how to control things.

Suffering teaches you how to surrender them.

Stature - real, steady, rooted stature - learns obedience. Jesus didn’t just obey when the weather was good. He obeyed in Gethsemane. He obeyed at the cross. That’s soldier-grade faith. No shortcuts.

And here’s the beautiful part, because He learned obedience through suffering, He became our Source. So when we’re weak, we’re not doing it alone.

And honestly speaking, there was a season in my own life when God asked me to say "yes" and I had zero strength to do it. I wanted comfort; I just wanted the easy route. But in that stretching, in that ache, I learned what it meant to trust Him when I couldn't see the next step. That season didn't break me, sis. It formed me. And He met me there.

Reflection for you today:

Sis, what is this season teaching you about saying “yes” to God? Where is He,, gently asking for your obedience… even though it hurts?

You’re not failing. You’re being formed. And He’s with you in the classroom.

Blessings
