I’ve been sitting with Psalm 94:12-13 today, where it says: “Blessed is the man whom God disciplines… so He can give him rest from days of adversity.”
When we hear the word discipline, our minds usually jump to restriction, rules, or feeling like we’ve done something wrong. But real spiritual maturity teaches us something different: true, deep rest is actually built through God's gentle discipline.
Think about how we parent our own little ones. When we correct them or give them boundaries, it’s never because we want to break their spirit or wreck their day. It’s because we love them fiercely and we want to protect them from harm.
It’s the same layout as our Heavenly Father. Hebrews 12:6 reminds us that God disciplines the ones He loves. He corrects us today because He is actively securing our peace for tomorrow. He wants you rested, sis, not wrecked. His boundaries are actually a hiding place.
Let's reflect on this together today: What area of discipline, boundary, or "pruning" is God putting you through right now? What if, instead of fighting it, we looked at it as Him building a safe fortress for our future rest?
I’d love to hear your heart on this. Drop a comment below if you are leaning into His gentle correction today.
